processing chain game

Combined cooing over Steph Thirion’s games mod workshop and layer tennis over the past few weeks got me thinking about a project I’m looking into running that sits halfway between the two.

Currently lacking in a catchy title, the basic gist is a chain processed game/interactive art. Starting with an original (but basic) games code in Processing- this would then be passed along a chain of X people who would each make X number of changes to the code before passing it onto the next person and so on until it gets to the end and we’re left with some weird mutilated but (potentially) beautiful evolution of interactive art/ game. Instead I’m going to write about an old Game Mod workshop created by Steph Thirion (the guy behind the stylish, abstract and addictive Eliss)  for the Elisava Design School in Barcelona that consumed 2 hours of my time (a good 2 hours) last night (more…)

sandpits and playmakers

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

I’d been planning on waiting till I next attended a sandpit session before writing a post about them, but sadly fate keeps guiding me back to the Midlands when they’re taking place. pervasive space invaders

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

Do I get bonus points for getting the word pervasive in the post title?…. anyhew if it was acceptable to do so I could quite easily just reblog the majority of the contents of Offworld, but as its not I have to pick one and stick with it, so I will not be writing about the updates on the Korean Katamari MMO, epic Chiptune mix tapes,  or pixel themed weddings, but instead fun fair esque space invaders.
